Sean Percival - stand-up comedian and comedy scriptwriter

Sean Percival is a stand-up comedian from Dudley in the Black Country, a former welder who swapped the factory floor for the comedy circuit in the 1990s. His comedy draws on that working background, delivering what he calls the comedy of honesty: direct, down-to-earth material that steers away from the surreal in favour of sharp, relatable realism. It is an approach built on working men's club traditions but told with a very contemporary edge, and one that has made him equally at home in front of a boisterous club crowd or a black-tie corporate audience.

Over three decades on the circuit, Percival has headlined many of the UK's best-known comedy clubs, including the Comedy Store, the Glee Clubs, the Komedias and the Stands, as well as regular slots at Jongleurs. He has taken his stand-up to the comedy tents at Glastonbury, Reading, Download and Bearded Theory, and performed as part of the sold-out Comedy Zone show at the Edinburgh Festival. Alongside performing, he has built a career as a scriptwriter, spending two years writing and performing on Capital FM's Birmingham drive-time show and working alongside Johnny Vaughan for the Capital Radio group.

Percival's ability to read a room and adjust his material accordingly, honed over hundreds of club and festival gigs, makes him a safe pair of hands for a wide range of events, from rugby club dinners to formal awards nights. His honest, working-class charm and sharp observational writing give him broad appeal without losing any of his edge, making him a strong choice for corporate functions, comedy clubs and private parties looking for a comedian who can judge the room perfectly.
