Rich Morton - award-winning musical stand-up comedian

Rich Morton is a musical stand-up comedian who has been a fixture of the UK circuit for more than 30 years, since first making his name in London in the late 1980s. A genuine triple threat on stage, he weaves sharp, witty observations together with original songs performed on guitar and piano, giving his sets a warmth and musicality that sets him apart from a straight stand-up bill.

Morton was a founding member of the Comedy Store's influential topical show Cutting Edge in 1990, and in 1992 he won the Time Out Comedy Award. He was given his own special edition of Channel 5's The Comedy Store in 1997 and made his Edinburgh Fringe debut the following year. He has also released his own comedy music, including the 2009 album The Theme That Never Was, a collection of fictional theme tunes for imaginary Sixties and Seventies television programmes, and he has built a long history as a trusted support act on tour for major names including Jack Dee, Lee Evans, Jo Brand, Lily Savage and Phill Jupitus.

That rare combination of stand-up craft and genuine musical talent makes Rich a memorable and versatile booking for corporate functions, club nights and after-dinner events alike, offering something a little different from a conventional comedy set. His decades of experience supporting some of the biggest names on the circuit mean he knows exactly how to read a room and deliver a polished, professional set wherever he is booked.
