Stand-up comedian, character comic and Fringe headliner

Andy White - stand-up comedian and character comic

Andy White is a Birmingham stand-up comedian known on the circuit for his instantly recognisable look, a mad afro, and an energetic, quick-shifting style that runs from deadpan one-liners to loud physical comedy within the same set. He builds his material from sharp observational humour, current events and his own mixed race background, pulling in voices and characters as the mood of the room demands. That range, clever one minute and cheekily silly the next, has made him a familiar face at clubs and theatres across the country, equally comfortable warming up a rowdy Friday night crowd or holding a quieter room with a well-timed character voice.

He has taken solo shows to the Edinburgh Fringe on several occasions, including Young, Gifted and Beige at the Leicester Comedy Festival and the five-star reviewed It Started With A Quiz, built around his winning appearance on the Weakest Link comedian's special. His broadcast credits include the BBC New Comedy Awards on BBC Choice and BBC Radio 7's Brand Spanking New, and his show Daddy Fool toured venues in Bath, Brighton and Birmingham. Andy has taken his stand-up overseas too, playing gigs in Monte Carlo, Berlin, Abu Dhabi and Dubai, and he headlines regularly for the UK's major comedy club chains and promoters.

Andy's mix of sharp writing, physical comedy and instant audience connection makes him a reliable booking across the board, from comedy club headline slots to corporate functions and family friendly shows. He reads a room fast and adjusts his material accordingly, meaning the tone stays right whether the crowd is loud and boisterous or after something a little more polished. That versatility, paired with a genuinely distinctive stage presence, is exactly what makes him such an easy comedian to book with confidence.
